Artist Statement

Color, shape, and line are my favorite elements of art.

My current work is an exploration in color, line, shape, and space. Nature has always influenced as well as inspired the kinds of work that I produce. My current works of art are an interpretation of the world beyond earth that we call the universe - planets, stars, galaxies, asteroids, and black holes. I am fascinated about the world beyond our clouds. I become very excited when NASA shares images of new findings in space exploration.

I am in an experimental mode working with acrylic on canvas. I use color, line, and shape to interpret how I view the sky beyond earth. The background in these recent works are left blank to create a sense of space with floating objects or lines of light passing through. You will see dotted lines like tracks representing the path of other planets, or moving objects like satellites.

However, works on paper is my favorite art medium - pastels, ink drawings, and etchings.
